Ndamukong Suh’s foot appeared to hit the side of Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick’s helmet following a tackle in the Jets win on Sunday. Suh was involved in a similar play against the Redskins in Week 1.
There is new controversy over Miami Dolphins Defensive Tackle Ndamukong Suh after he appeared to kick the Jets quarterback in the head. Experts and online users are discussing the case of Ndamukong Suh, who has been notorious as one of the most violent players in the NFL. Video footage from the Dolphins vs. Jets game on Sunday in London shows the tackle kicking Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick’s helmet off.
Suh was in pursuit of Fitzpatrick as the quarterback ran to the sideline. As Fitzpatrick came down on the ground, Suh continued running toward him and appeared to pull his foot back for a kick. His left leg caught Fitzpatrick in the head and knocked his helmet off. The discussions are hot over whether the kick was intentional or incidental. Suh obviously has a reputation all the way from his Detroit days. Hence many believe that the collision was everything but an accident. As a matter of fact, the defensive tackle was already accused of kicking a player in the head earlier this season. The fact that he pulled back his left foot is seen as a red flag, by many. There is also visible force in his kick. The counter argument is that Suh was just trying not to trip over the quarterback. But that doesn’t explain the kicking motion or the apparent change of direction.
It will be interesting to see what NFL officials think as the video is analyzed.
