Viral Meningitis: Central Michigan Schools Report Multiple Cases of Illness

Schools reporting viral meningitis cases include Dailey, Grand Blanc, Davison, Clio, Montrose and Swartz Creek. Those with the bacterial illness experience flu-like symptoms.

Two more Mid-Michigan schools are reporting cases of viral meningitis.

A student at Dailey Elementary in the Beecher district and a Grand Blanc High School student have been diagnosed with the illness.

Viral meningitis is less severe than the bacterial form and is similar to the flu.

Davison, Clio, Montrose and Swartz Creek schools have also reported cases this year.
